East Bank Middle School students line up to make a new career choice after completing the “Get A Life” financial education program activity. Eight EnAct Community Action’s staff and three AmeriCorp volunteers participated in the event. Students were given a salary for a job without a requirement of further education and had to visit work stations and deduct the cost of living expenses for their families. Many students found themselves with a negative balance and realized that they needed to continue their education in order to secure a better paying job that would allow them a more affordable life style. EnAct Community Action was delighted to be a community partner with the West Virginia State Treasurer’s office in this activity.
