EnAct Community Action has teamed up with the Buffalo Elementary School to provide weekend backpack snacks for students in need by providing a $5,000 grant. “We are very pleased to be able to help Buffalo Elementary School” commented Brent Pauley, CEO of EnAct, adding, “They were in a stressful situation trying to figure out how to get the program funded this year.”

Each school year children’s parent’s apply to participate in the program. Backpack snack bags are prepared and distributed every Friday for children to take home in order to have food over the weekend. “The program maintains a high degree of confidentiality” stated Rebecca Young, Buffalo Elementary school teacher and program coordinator.

This year approximately 70 children will participate in the program and will enjoy having food for the weekend. “If a child is hungry, they can’t perform well in school” said Brent Pauley, “this is why it so important that we help the children, after all, they are our future.”
